About me:

I’m currently on career break from my other life as a primary school teacher to stay at home with my little girls. We all lived in Dublin until my littlest was born last year and then we all decamped home to Kilkenny to be near the Nana’s. I was initially terrified of losing my identity (and sanity) by staying at home and not working but it has turned out to be a wonderful adventure 🙂

Being a teacher comes with a lot of moral obligations, we act “in locus parentis” for the children in our care, which basically means “in the place of a parent”. We therefore are morally obliged to treat the children we work with with the same respect and care that we would give to our own children. We also need to be understanding and considerate of the parents of the children in our care, whose opinions and thoughts are not always the same as ours. For these reasons I blog anonymously so that I can remain impartial and professional in my working life.

I started this blog as a way of charting our day to day lives and of keeping my brain from turning to mush… (although it may be too late for the latter).
